The sales grew by 2.4 % to 24,957 vehicles in Western Europe and by 44.6 % to 9,548 vehicles in Eastern Europe. Compared to February 2007, the Company delivered 8.2 % more vehicles in the Czech Republic (altogether 4,780 vehicles).
Škoda Auto sold 52,916 vehicles in February, 19.4 % more as compared to the same period of 2007. The Company's sales since the beginning of the year total 105,179 vehicles (+17.8 % as compared to the same period of last year).
Škoda reports 8,583 new registrations in Germany, its strongest market. Key East European markets include Russia (3,055 vehicles in total, +62.6 % as compared to February 2007), the Ukraine (2,616 vehicles, +71 %) and Romania (2,030 vehicles, +18.7 %).
The Škoda Octavia has defended its position as the best-selling model (altogether 27,012 vehicles, of which 20,954 Škoda Octavia and 6,058 Škoda Octavia Tour). The sales of the new Fabia grew by 9.1 % as compared to last year (18,701 vehicles), the sales of the Roomster by 25.8% (5,829 vehicles). The Company sold 1,374 Superbs in February.
