Space and power

One of the Superb’ values is its extraordinary spaciousness. For example, the space for passengers’ legs in the back in comparison with the previous generation increased by a total of 19 mm and the volume of the luggage space rose to 565 litres.

From the wide range of engines we can highlight, for example, the petrol four-cylinder 1.8 TSI with a power output of 118 kW (with a DSG gearbox). It reaches a torque of 250 Nm between 1800 and 4500 revs.

It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds. The engine has a favourable combined consumption - 7.6 l/100 km. A DSG seven-speed automatic gearbox can be chosen only with this engine.

Petrol engines
A top car undoubtedly needs a strong engine. The top of the range drive unit for the Superb will be a six-cylinder 3.6 FSI with a power output of 191 kW. At the current time you can choose from two four-cylinder engines – the new 1.4 TSI/92 kW and the more powerful 1.8 TSI/118 kW.
Diesel engines
The range of diesel engines contains two supercharged four-cylinder engines with a pump-nozzle system, 1.9 TDI PD DPF /77 kW and 2.0 TDI PD DPF/103 kW. The trio is finished off by a two-litre four-cylinder engine with common-rail high-pressure injection, a 2.0 TDI CR DPF with a top power output of 125 kW.
Manual gearboxes
Manual transmissions are characterised by the precise shift gate with precisely defined short gear lever travel. Combined with optimal gear lever length and shape, shifting gears is very simple. The standard is a six-gear manual transmission, and the only exception is the 1.9 TDI PD/77 kW engine, which is offered with a five-speed gearbox.
Automatic gearboxes
An automatic dual-clutch DSG gearbox (Direct Shift Gearbox) links the benefits of mechanical and standard automatic transmissions. There is a six-speed DSG gearbox for two-litre diesel engines and for the 3.6 FSI V6/191 kW.  The new seven-gear DSG transmission, which is solely for the 1.8 TSI/118 kW engine, is an exceptional offer.
