Safety that relieves

The brand’s flagship model also sets an example in its range of active and passive safety accessories. The Superb’s excellent handling and numerous accessories contribute not just to a comfortable ride, but also a safe one.

The safety of the crew is always at the top of our priority list.

Passengers are protected by adequate deformation zones in the chassis, special support for the engine, pedal cluster and steering column, triple side reinforcements built into the doors and sills, and electronics that in case of an accident automatically close off the fuel supply and unlock any doors that may be locked. And this is far from all. 

Driver and front passenger airbags are included in each Superb as standard, as are airbags at the end seats. The front passenger’s front and side airbags can be easily deactivated, making it possible to safely place a child seat in the front. Optional head airbags protect the side window zone from the front A-pillar all the way back to the C-pillar. 

Advanced electronically-controlled chassis systems are part of the brake system. Starting from the Comfort version, the Superb includes as standard an ESP system that stabilises the car when it goes round a bend, with the aim of eliminating skidding. Basic accessories also include Dual Rate power brakes which in critical situations help to shorten the braking distance.

Parking sensors
Park your car safely and surely by having your Superb equipped with a system that signals distances while the car is being parked. Four ultrasound sensors in the rear bumper measure the distance between your car and the nearest obstacle. Front sensors can also be purchased in combination with the rear sensors.
Airbag deactivation
If a child seat is placed in the front seat, the front passenger airbag must be deactivated with the key found in the glove box.
Boarding-spots
Boarding-Spots are lights located on the bottoms of the outside rear-view mirrors as well as on the lower edges of the front doors that illuminate an area of up to 1 meter around the car. Now puddles and worse can be easily avoided when you get in and out of your car at night.   
Multifunction steering wheel
Easy-to-reach buttons on the left side of the leather steering wheel make it possible for you to control the cruise-control function as well as your cell phone, if desired. The buttons on the right side operate the radio and, in versions offering control for your telephone, these buttons also allow you to browse your cell phone address book and menu.
