There is a long tradition behind the link between the Škoda brand and ice hockey – we have been the main sponsor behind the Ice Hockey World Championships since 1992 and we will carry on until 2011, at least. This partnership is the longest in the history of world sports championships.
For this significant event in the world of ice hockey we provide an official fleet of Škoda cars, which the organisers use to transport people during the championships. We display our cars during matches in the corners of the stadiums, the centre circle for face-offs bears the company’s logo and the boards also carry Škoda advertising. In 2004 alone we presented ourselves to 701 million viewers who watched the ice hockey world championships in more than 50 countries throughout the world.
In its home environment, the Škoda brand is linked as the main partner with the Czech national ice hockey team and the extraliga.
