Changes to the Škoda Auto Board of Directors

As of January 1, 2010, Mr. Karlheinz Hell has acceded to the newly created position of Škoda Auto Board member responsible for purchase.


The Board of Directors has been extended due to ever more demanding and important role of the purchase department in securing the production in cooperation with suppliers VW Group-wide. Mr. Karlheinz Hell's tasks will further include coordination of VW Group's purchase activities in the Central Europe.

Dipl.-Ing. Karlheinz Hell (*1963)

A graduate in Mechanical Engineering at the Munich University joined Audi AG in 1987. After his accession as a trainee he started his professional career in production planning and in Audi AG pilot hall. In 1994 he took head position in machinery in tool-making department. From 1996 to 1998 he was serving as Project Manager of AUDI A2 project, responsible for term and financial realisation of the project for production. In 1998 he changed for purchase, where he was working as Head of Global and Forward Sourcing and later as Head of Comodity Exterieur. In years 2007 - 2009 he was Head of Purchase at Volkswagen AG in South Africa. Since January 1, 2009 he has been holding a position of Škoda Auto Board member responsible for purchase.

ŠKODA is continuing on its growth course. Worldwide sales rose 10.2 percent year on year in January 2012. This is also the best January figure in ŠKODA’s 117-year corporate history.
