ŠKODA AUTO succeeded again at the Auto Trophy 2009 competition organised by the Auto Zeitung, German motoring magazine. ŠKODA Yeti won the Off-road/import category, Roomster finished first in the Minivans/import category and the Octavia limousine was the best in the Compact class/import category.

ŠKODA Superb (2.0TDI 170 HP) became the Taxi of the Year 2009-2010, organised by the professional taxi magazine L´Officiel du Taxi in Paris, France. ŠKODA Octavia Combi was awarded for the best price/performance rate.

ŠKODA Yeti achieved the highest rating of five stars in the independent Euro NCAP tests and filled the prominent position of high level of safety in its category. Also the new ŠKODA Superb received five stars in independent crash tests performed by Euro NCAP. One of the factors to have contributed to the highest possible rating is a knee airbag. Since 2006 five stars belong also to ŠKODA Roomster.

ŠKODA Superb is a winner of the German Best Cars award, organised by Auto Motor and Sport. In the Czech Republic it won the upper medium class of the vote B (models in each segment limited by the price).

ŠKODA Superb became a Company Car of the Year awards in the Czech Republic and Germany and The Best Company Car in Croatia. ŠKODA Superb GreenLine won the category of environmentally-friendly cars at the Fleet Car of the Year awards in Austria.

ŠKODA Superb received Winter Car of the Year 2009 award of the Finnish magazine Tekniikan Maailma, Russian Golden klaxon and VAB Family Car of the Year in Belgium. In Poland it became The Most Beautiful Car Exhibited and it won the category Car for Business of the Playboy Auto Contest. The car became the Towcar of the Year 2009 by ANWB Kampeer en Caravan Kampioen in Netherlands. ŠKODA Superb 4x4 won the Allrad Auto des Jahres 2009 in Germany.

ŠKODA AUTO won in the Best Premiere and the Best Exposition at the Expo Silesia in Poland. ŠKODA Fabia GreenLine took the first place in the 1st Controlled Eco-Rally.

The readers of Swiss magazine Auto-illustrierte priced ŠKODA AUTO as the brand with the best value for money for the ninth consecutive year. ŠKODA AUTO was awarded for its support for culture and arts by the Trebbia 2009 award and as the Good Brand by the Reader’s digest. In the Czech Top 100 competition ŠKODA AUTO became the most respected company. Auto Express Driver Power Survey in the United Kingdom awarded ŠKODA AUTO as the Best Manufacturer in 2009 and it became Exporter of the Year 2009 in the Czech Republic. In 2009 ŠKODA AUTO finished second in the the automakers category of the Rhodos Company Image Award.
