Thanks to the chassis, the ŠKODA Octavia has been well-known for its excellent driving characteristics since the first generation. Driven by a McPherson front axle with lower triangular links, it was improved even more thanks to careful development. The result is maximum precision of steering ensuring the car corners smoothly and safely.

The car’s excellent behaviour is helped by a modern multi-link rear axle. Thanks to the unique construction, it affords excellent handling and maximum stability, as well as providing the driver with ideal reaction, primarily in extreme situations. In short, the new Octavia’s chassis does not allow any compromises between comfort and dynamism.

1.4 TSI Petrol Engine

With the new 1.4 TSI/90 kW petrol engine, the Octavia reaches a maximum speed of 203 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.7 seconds. Combined consumption is only 6.6 litres per 100 km, which corresponds to CO2 emissions of 154 g/km.

Diesel Engines

The tried-and-tested 1.9 TDI/77 kW and 2.0 TDI/103 kW turbo diesel engines with a pump-jet fuel injection system can be equipped on request with a maintenance-free DPF solid particle filter. The range of diesel engines also contains the 1.6 TDI CR DPF /77 kW engine with common-rail high-pressure injection.

Mechanical Gearboxes

For the modernised Octavia model, depending on the chosen engine, the standard is a classic five-speed (for the 1.4 MPI, 1.6 MPI, 1.6 TDI and 1.9 TDI engines) or six-speed (for the 1.2 TSI, 1.4 TSI, 1.8 TSI and 2.0 TDI engines) mechanical gearbox.

Automatic Gearboxes

A new feature in the range of automatic gearboxes is, in addition to the current classic six-speed automatic gearbox and the six-speed double-clutch DSG automatic gearbox, a seven-speed automatic double-clutch DSG gearbox for the 1.2, 1.4 and 1.8 TSI petrol engines.
