Green tec

​The Green tec label denotes the cars with lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions than the standard ŠKODA vehicles.

Frugal 1.4 TSI/90kW gasoline engine and 2.0 TDI CR DPF/103kW diesel engine with common-rail fuel injection and diesel particulate filter represent the essence of the low fuel consumption and emission figures. In the Green tec variant, the diesel engine is available with the front wheel drive only.

Lower emissions are achieved by:

- Brake energy recovery,
- Using the low rolling resistance tyres,
- Using the Start-Stop system.

The engines always conform to the EU 5 emission standards. The Green tec models are distinguished by the green letter “I” in the TSI or TDI badges.
