Space and power

One of the Superb’s largest attributes is its extraordinary spaciousness. The rear passenger leg room in comparison with the previous generation increased by a total of 19 mm and the volume of the luggage space rose to 565 litres.

From the wide range of engines we can highlight, for example, the petrol four-cylinder 1.8 TSI with a power output of 118 kW (with a DSG gearbox). It reaches a torque of 250 Nm between 1800 and 4500 revs.

It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds. The engine has a favourable combined consumption - 7.6 l/100 km. A DSG seven-speed automatic gearbox is also offered with this engine.

Petrol engines

The top of the range drive unit for the Superb will be a six-cylinder 3.6 FSI with a power output of 191 kW (260bhp).  You can also choose from two four-cylinder turbo charged petrol engines – the new 1.4 TSI/92 kW (125bhp) and the more powerful 1.8 TSI/118 kW (160bhp).

Diesel engines

The range of diesel engines contains two supercharged four-cylinder engines with a pump-nozzle system, 1.9 TDI PD DPF /77 kW (105bhp) and 2.0 TDI PD DPF/103 kW (140bhp). The trio is finished off by a two-litre four-cylinder engine with common-rail high-pressure 2.0 TDI CR DPF with power output of 125 kW (170bhp).

Manual Transmissions

All Superb vehicles (except 1.9TDI) come with 6-Speed manual transmission.

Automatic Transmissions

An automatic dual-clutch DSG gearbox (Direct Shift Gearbox) links the benefits of mechanical and standard automatic transmissions. Six-speed DSG gearboxes are offered in all 2.0TDI engines.
The new 7-speed DSG transmission, which is offered only for the 1.8 TSI/118 kW (160bhp) engine, is truly exceptional providing faster acceleration and lower Co2 emissions than the manual 6-speed alternative.
