In a host of demanding tests the new Superb displayed that it knows how to look after its passenger’s safety perfectly, and complied with the strictest criteria in this sphere.Driver and Passenger Airbags, Side Airbags and a Driver knee airbag are all located in the front of the vehicle. Curtain airbags extend from the roof to protect occupants from upper body injuries in the event of a side collision.
A new feature for ŠKODA vehicles is the parking assistant. Only a few prestige car manufacturers in the world offer this practical aid which was developed for parallel parking. The parking assistant uses parking sensors in the front, side and rear of the car to calculate distances and turning angles. By a simple touch of a button the parking assistant will assess whether the distance between vehicles is sufficient. You then simply proceed to reverse the car as normal without placing your hands on the wheel. The parking assistant will turn the wheels of the car, while you control the speed and the braking of the vehicle.
The headlamps of the new model Superb are an unusual shape compared to other models in the ŠKODA range, the profile of the lens sweeps all the way to the side of the vehicle. They form a powerfully dominant aggressive feature of the car.
Bi-Xenon headlamps (available on Elegance version) feature outstanding illumination and, combined with the new AFS (Adaptive Frontlight System), increase road visibility and safety. They automatically adapt the lighting to various travel situations by swiveling into bends and changing the illuminated surface of the road depending on cornering and for city, motorway or rain conditions. The “tourist light” function can be used by drivers traveling to the continent. Under normal circumstances vehicle lighting requires modification to cope with driving on the opposite side of the road. This is now controlled by the driver form the vehicle so physical modifications are now a thing of the past.
