ŠKODA Motorsport

The year 2011 in which the ŠKODA brand celebrated 110 years of its motorsport efforts has become the most successful year in the history of ŠKODA Motorsport.

ŠKODA dominated the Manufacturers category of the 2011 Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) for the second consecutive year. Andreas Mikkelsen in a Fabia Super 2000 won the Drivers’ category. Second and third places were also taken by Fabia drivers – Jan Kopecký and Juho Hänninen.

Furthermore, Juho Hänninen & Mikko Markkula of Red Bull ŠKODA won the first-ever World Championship title for ŠKODA in the SWRC category.

Fabia S2000

Transmission: sequential 6-speed, 2 mechanic differentials. Clutch: AP Racing, sinter, 2 discs 184 mm.

Suspension: Mc Pherson front and rear, shock absorbers Reiger. Brakes: Brembo, tarmac front brake wheel Ø 355 mm, tarmac rear brake wheel Ø 300 mm, gravel brake wheels Ø 300 mm. Tyres and rims: Michelin, asphalt 8x18“, gravel 7x15“.

Drivers

In addition to the technicians and other motorsport specialists, the factory crews have contributed decisively to ŠKODA's success with the Fabia Super 2000.

The Czech crew of Jan Kopecký and Pavel Dresler was formed at the end of the 2011 season. With his previous co-driver Petr Starý, Jan Kopecký took the final 2nd place in the IRC series in 2009, 2010 and 2011.

The Finnish crew of Juho Hänninen and Mikko Markkula added to their numerous victories at different rallies, notably, the SWRC world championship title in 2011 and the IRC drivers' championship title in 2010.
